JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the Hedge Fund (HF) team, particularly the routine accounting operations, the accurate and timely NAV reporting (daily, monthly or quarterly), and the day-to-day activities of the HF Team. This role requires strong technical expertise in hedge fund structures, close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and a focus on quality, compliance, and process efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee end-to-end hedge fund accounting operations, including daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations and related reconciliations, P&L reporting, investor allocations, and financial reporting.
  • Lead and manage the hedge fund accounting team, providing guidance, review, and support to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Review and approve NAV packages, trial balances, financial statements, and supporting schedules in accordance with fund legal documents and accounting standards for complex funds, and for other funds when necessary or when unusual transactions are identified.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment of complex hedge fund transactions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, auditors, administrators, and other external parties regarding hedge fund accounting matters.
  • Interpret and apply fund legal documents to accounting and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as Onboarding, Investor Relations, Compliance, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Tax, and Technology to ensure accurate data flow and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements across hedge fund operations.
  • Support audit processes by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring timely completion of audits.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Assistant Managers, Seniors, and Associate Accountants.
  • Lead regular team meetings to review workload, deadlines, issues, and performance.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Cascade relevant information acquired from management and working group meetings (including operational risk events and resolutions, changes and/or improvements in processes, and operational reminders) to the respective teams.
  • Determine manpower requirements for the team in relation to the clients assigned and provide final hiring recommendations to the Head of Corporate Strategy and Client Relations.
  • Ensure completeness and timely discussion of 3rd-month, 6th-month (regularization), and bi-annual performance evaluations for all team members.
  • Together with Managers, guide the team in establishing and achieving team and individual goals.
  • Together with Managers and Assistant Managers, recommend employee promotions.
  • Identify training needs of the hedge fund team and coordinate with the Learning and Development Team; prepare training materials in collaboration with other hedge fund managers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We will equip candidates with the skill set necessary for this position during the initial training period. However, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in financial services, particularly in alternative investments and the asset management industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hedge fund accounting, NAV calculations, and financial instruments, preferably with extensive experience handling daily NAV reporting, daily cash and positions reconciliations, and other activities associated with daily reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in fund accounting platforms.
  • Client-facing experience with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • High accuracy in reviewing fund documents and financial data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills preferred.
  • Hybrid work schedule (in-office and remote), subject to future modification by the company.
